Khnum was sleeping in the barrack. He was just appointed to the rank of Major, after been in the army for so many years. A group of best covert operation soldiers were selected, to form a Special Forces for the new army of Osiris. The concept came from Thoth and Ishtar. Khnum is forty-five years old, he started from the rank of private and worked hard to get to his current rank, with the combination of training and experience.
The best covert operation officers were gathered, ranking Lieutenant and higher and their duty is now to recruit talented soldiers and train them to be worthy to join this Special Forces, which Thoth would name as “Guardian of Niles”
Ishtar and Thoth come and overlook the training sometime, the warriors chosen to be the officers of the Guardian of Niles and to train the new enlisted are way tougher than Ishtar, whom is a level five Amazonian and is yet, to complete her level four training. But Ishtar is a warrior, so, she can still understand what the instructors of the Guardian of Nile is doing, so there is no fooling her.
It was late at night, Khnum was sleeping in the barrack, when he suddenly saw a figure, as a trained soldier Khnum is able to soon see that this person is not a member of the “Guardian of Nile.” Khnum soon jumped out of bed and engaged this person in combat. The person fought back, he wearing black robe and cover his face with a black cloth. Khnum is a master in eight different type of hand to hand combat martial art style making him extremely deadly, but this person is every inch a match against Khnum, they exchanged over eight moves, no winner. The figure jumped out of the barrack, Khnum also jumped out of the barrack, they exchanged another sixteen moves, no winner.
Khnum try a further attack on the figure, but quick enough, the figure had his fist upon Khnum’s throat that punch could kill Khnum, but before the punch was about to reach Khnum’s throat, the fist stopped.
Khnum took a look at it quickly block the arm away and engaged the figure again. Khnum and the figure again exchanged over eighteen moves, no winner, but soon, the figure tripped Khnum to the ground. Khnum expect the figure to attack, but he moved back and waited for Khnum to stand up.
“You got two chances to kill me and you didn’t take it. Who are you?” Khnum said
The masked figure took off the cloth that cover his face, it was Ra.
Khnum quickly got down to his knee “My Lord” he said
“Khnum my friend, it been many years.” Ra said.
Ra is not only Khnum’s Pharaoh. He is also Khnum’s mentor.
“Please get up, my friend.” Ra said
“Thank you, my Lord” Khnum stood up.
Ra look like an elderly man, he has become slightly fat, due to his old age, but is still very masculine. His hair is all white.
“My Lord, we all thought that you are dead.” Khnum said
Ra didn’t respond to Khnum’s sentence.
“I need your help Khnum.” Ra said
“What is it?” Khnum replied
“I screw up, Khnum.” Ra said “Because of my negligence, a powerful demon, the demon of chaos has escaped. It is my intention to put him back into his cage, at the bottom of the Euphrates river of Babylon. But I need your help Khnum. He reincarnated into my bloodline Khnum. His name is Seth.” Ra said
“Seth is your grandson.” Khnum said
Ra didn’t respond to Khnum’s statement
“In one year, Seth will conduct a military coup and enslave the world, all those who refuse to serve and honor him as their one and only true god, above all else, will be persecuted. There will be disease, war, famine and death, to both that submit and not submit, alike, as he would suck the peasants dry, to please him.” Ra said
“Once I reincarnated back into the mortal world, I would no longer be Ra. I will take on a new mortal form, a new body, a new life and a new identity. He will need support, he will need guidance, he will need protection if he is to complete the task in defeating Seth, so I can seal the demon of Chaos back into the bottom of the Euphrates river. Can I count on your support, to help him, when the time comes?” Ra said
Khnum got down on his knees “Of course, my Lord.” Khnum said, but when Khnum got back onto his feet, Ra is gone.
Khnum looked around, standing on the top of the army barrack, was a hawk, looking proud and majestic. The hawk looked around and opened his mouth screech twice and flew away.
As the hawk flew away, Khnum opened his eyes. He realized he was still in his bed, within the army barrack. It was all a dream, but Khnum noticed his arm and legs to be dirty, as if they been in a fight. Khnum walked out of his tent. And he saw a hawk that looked exactly like the hawk he saw in his dream standing there, the hawk stood there for a while, until it finally flew away.
For the next few weeks, Khnum continue the training of the Guardian of Niles cadets. Ishtar and Thoth would come every few days to observe the progress and every time, when Ishtar comes, Khnum would see that same hawk, standing upon a tree branch screeching and a few weeks later, it was been announced. The lady Ishtar is pregnant.
One day, Khnum again saw that hawk, standing upon that tree branch looking at Khnum almost as if saying “Remember what you promise me.”
Three days later, on day forty of Ishtar’s pregnancy, she once again came to oversight the training of the Guardian of Nile. Khnum once against saw that same hawk was there again, but this time, it was flying high above the sky, screeching, it continue to fly in circle and screeching, after a while, the hawk suddenly started charging downwards at a speed faster then Khnum could responded it and before he know what is going on, the hawk flew into Ishtar’s stomach and disappeared. Khnum was shocked, but it soon occur to Khnum, he is the only one that is aware of this happening.
And after that day Khnum never saw that hawk again.
